Spider veins - those small discolored vessels that seem to be just underneath the surface of your legs - are a common complaint for 80% of the female population. At The Landells Clinic, we treat these spider veins via sclerotherapy.

The leading causes of spider and varicose veins are pregnancy, heredity, aging, occupation, hormones and obesity. Varicose veins can also be related to more serious vein disorders so a careful evaluation must be made by an experienced health care professional before any treatment is carried out.

How it works:

A sclerosing solution is injected into the affected veins. The walls of the veins then collapse, inhibiting blood flow and begin to fade away.

What to expect:

Immediately after the treatment, you will have cotton balls taped to the injection site for 24 hours. Wearing compression stocking for two weeks after the treatment has also proven to enhance the collapse of the vessels and ensure a successful treatment. The duration and frequency of the treatments will vary from one individual to another.
